Join us for an opportunity to learn about a brand new equestrian sport, Cross Country Equitation, and to participate in a simplified competition.

What is Cross Country Equitation (CCE)?

An OBJECTIVELY scored, cross-country-based jumping competition that rewards the well developed horse-rider partnership. Jump obstacles to score points. Attempt only the obstacles you want to jump. Every obstacle is OPTIONAL. We promise, there are no hunt coats, ratchatchers,  braids, or asking you to drop your stirrups in this event!

Schedule

Riders only need to attend on briefing before their ride. They can choose either the Saturday or Sunday session.

Saturday Afternoon - Briefing, Q&A,  and discussion with International 5* rider, Nick Larkin, followed by a course walk.

Sunday - Briefing, Q&A, and discussion with International 5* rider, Nick Larkin, followed by a course walk.

Sunday, After the conclusion of Mini Trial Cross Country - Cross Country Riding (CCR) Stage. Each rider will have the opportunity to ride the designated course.

The actively ridden component of this workshop is a Cross Country Ride (CCR) stage only. Other features of CCE and the Jump Off Ride (JOR) stage will be explained and discussed. CCR Course will be easy. The goal is to learn about CCE. Every obstacle is OPTIONAL. Ride at your own, preferred pace.

Fees:

Grounds Fee $55 (if not stabled at KHP for Octoberfest)

Participation Fee: $50  (Includes 1 briefing meeting, one-course walk, and one cross-country ride).

Entries will close at 12pm on Friday, October 27. Space permitting, post entries may be accepted at Octoberfest Show office with a $5 late fee.

ALL RIDERS MUST HAVE A SIGNED WAIVER ON FILE.
