Nick Larkin: New Equestrian Sport Is Perfectly Suited To The Thoroughbred
Nick Larkin, a former top-level eventer from New Zealand, has introduced a brand-new equestrian sport that is perfectly suited to Thoroughbreds. This sport, called Cross Country Equestrian (CCE), offers a long career and a welcoming home for horses coming off the track or those that never started racing. CCE is accessible, affordable, and objectively scored, emphasizing speed, stamina, jumping, and the partnership between horse and rider. In the six months since its launch in Kentucky, CCE competitions have expanded to numerous states and garnered international attention. It could be a promising solution for the thousands of Thoroughbreds transitioning out of the racing and breeding industry each year.
