CCE Workshop Competitions
During the launch phase of CCE, competitors, organizers, officials and supporters WILL need to learn the basics about the sport such as rules and concepts, and how flexibility dramatically expands the possibilities.
Aside from reading articles and watching videos (coming soon) the best way for everyone to learn about CCE is through a Workshop competition.
Workshops include simulated competitions that are shorter, simplified versions of the actual sport, focusing on the two main components of CCR and JOR. Everyone actively participates in the workshop which is part competition and part educational with discussions, briefings, course-walks and presentations.
While primarily focused on the rules for competition with emphasis on the two main Stages, the workshop also covers the roles of organizer, official, and volunteer, and explains the parts of CCE beyond the Class C format.
A workshop can be a stand-alone event, or it can be incorporated into another event such as a schooling show. The latter has advantages of a captive audience and needs less set-up.
A workshop ideally includes a shortened version of both the CCR and JOR stages, but can be conducted with only one stage being actively run. This means the organizer or venue that has space or facilities for only a JOR stage, can host a workshop. The CCR stage will be thoroughly discussed, but not put into practice.
In addition to those actively riding in the workshop, anyone interested in CCE should be invited to attend, including other competitors, trainers, instructors, organizers, officials, volunteers and supporters. A small scale workshop can be successful with fewer than 20 horse/rider combinations. Larger workshops with a more comprehensive competition can accommodate more active participants.
Finally, competitors should let their local organizers know that they are interested in CCE, and organizers should indicate the same to their competitor-base. When there is sufficient interest or you just want to know more, reach out to us here.
